Q&A with Todd Parr, award-winning children’s book author of ‘Teachers Rock!’
The National Assessment Governing Board recently released the first national assessment of students’ performance in visual arts and music in eight years. Eighth grade students’ abilities to create, perform, and respond to art, as well as their general knowledge of the arts were measured. Although the scores remain flat compared to 2008, the results also show that achievement gaps in arts may be narrowing.
